Yup, I've got SVN 33631 of gtk/main.c and I've tried a distclean since I've
been bitten by that before.  Still, I see the version information in the
welcome splash screen only, but never on the title bar.  Something weird with
my preferences file perhaps?  There is a "gui.window_title: " setting in the
preferences file, but it is blank.  I don't think that's why though.  I tried
to delete that line altogether, but it came back again the next time I saved
preferences. 

Also, is it normal that you have to quit Wireshark and restart after changing
the "Welcome screen and title bar shows the version:" preference before the
change takes affect?
