Hi

I am trying to decode RMI packets with ethereal, but fail to see the RMI headers as part of the TCP data. When selecting the data and selecting decode as ‘RMI’ all RMI packets are shown as ‘continuation’, in stead of the RMI headers with serialized Java objects.

Can someone please clarify what is meant by java RMI in Ethereal (is this RMI over HTTP, RMI transport protocol as defined by SUN, RMI related to CORBA or even the RMI implemented in Perl), what the difference is to Serialization and how to decode as Serialization.

Thanks

Cedric
