Greetings;

Is anyone familiar with Solaris 2.7 install of ethereal , particularly the depot
files.

I have downloaded pkgutils and installed ok.

However, can't get pkg-inst to run, keep getting "no depots to serarch for
packages" when I run /opt/TWWfsw/bin/pkg-inst.

If anyone has done a successful Solaris install, I would appreciate your ideas.

I expect it has to do with editing the depot files, but don't have an idea of
how to proceed.

Here is the directory structure I have now:

I have the following files in a directory off of root:

/ethereal/ depot-db.xml 46 bytes
                    depot-db.xml.org 342 bytes
                    pkg-db.xml 629791 bytes
                     pkg-db.xml.org 629791 bytes

under the /ethereal directory, I have all the packages in individual
directories:

/ethereal/ethereal (contains files for etheral-0.8.19)
                  /glib-1.2.10
                 /gtk+-1.2.10
                 /ucd-snmp-4.2.1
                 /zlib-1.1.3

In each of the above directories, I have unzipped and untarred the files.

Thanks in advance for looking at this, and your response, if any. -Tom
