Hello,

the attached patch adds -W -Wno-unused to the compile flags of gcc.
In order for people to be able to see relevant warnings, I removed
almost all "missing initializer" warnings. It seems I missed one
but I will fix that tomorrow - I need some sleep first :-)

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
