Title: RE: Trying to understand why Ethereal has problems under XP
Strange things seem to happen with Ethereal + WinPcap + XP ....

I have tried running tethereal -D.   although I select to install tethereal I can fin no reference to it in the installed programs.  Funny!  I then went back into ethereal to see if I could access tethereal from somewhere in there, and the adapters are now present.  I have not reinstalled ethereal or done anything to change the config of my machine.   I don't understand but it does now seem to be working OK.

Thanks to all for help and advice.

Clement

As I expected.

I don't think so.

Thanks.
Now I'm at the university, and I don't have the sources with me. As soon as
I arrive at home this evening, I will put a modified debug version of
tethereal available to you (either by FTP or HTTP, I don't know). Do you
have a fast Internet connection? Tethereal.exe is quite big.
