Yes, I do remember that now.

As far as I understand it, Hethereal was a web-frontend for a remotely running ethereal implementation.

What I'm thinking of is an export function, so you can for example export some packet data into some files, and put this on your webpage or send it to a friend, and he can view it without running or installing anything,
just using his webbrowser.

Of course, to avoid double effort, it would be a good idea to share things with hethereal whereever possible.
