The attached patch contains following changes:

At least some human interface guidelines indicate that anything
accessible with a context menu item should also be accessible from a
menu bar menu item, so that should probably be in the "View" menu as
well.

Also, you might want the item to be sensitive iff the currently-selected
item has a subtree.

The GTK2 code was fixed as it was not correct (I saw GTK2 for the first time).
