It'll be my first venture into gtk too, (plenty of GUI experience, just not 
gtk.) I chose the color filters because I have wanted global filters and a 
few other enhancements for some time, and because it looks like a 
self-contained module that I can understand without the complexity of the 
packet handling stuff.
