Sounds like Wireshark bug 3046

   https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3046

One workaround I've found for this problem is to disable the 
"Update list of packets in real time" option IF the "Use multiple files" 
option is enabled.
