Hi,

what do you mean with "... the program does not recognize any VoIP calls"?
You don't see any RTP packets?

Note that since RTP is an application layer protocol with dynamic port assignments, it is not by default decoded in Wireshark,
unless ...

- the capture also contains the signalling traffic setting up the RTP media streams, i.e. SIP, H.323 or MGCP packets. - OR you enabled "Try to decode RTP outside conversations" in the RTP preferences settings. (This is known as heuristic dissection.) - OR you decode the conversation by hand, i.e. you select a packet and then "Decode as..." RTP.

Lars Ruoff

Hi there,
Greetings from Greece! I am facing some problems with Wireshark ... I am working my final project in which I am trying to measure some parameters (lost packets, delay, jitter, etc) of VoIP calls over a wireless network. The major problem is that in almost all cases the program does not recognize any VoIP calls. The programs that I have used for the calls are SJPhone and X-lite. What may be the reason for that? Are there any settings for the VoIP calls that I must perform or is there another, more compatible program that I can use? Thank you very much in advance!
