Hmm.  For some reason, access_bpf is group 505 on my machine; that was done by
the post-install script.  Then again, my primary group is "staff", not a group
with a GID equal to my UID, for what that's worth.

It seems to be a bit of a botch that there were files on the machine owned by
group 501 but no actual group 501 in the machine's local Directory Services
database.

(The group on existing files did not actually change, it just got assigned an
entry in the DS database and thus a name.  The group used to be group 501, and
was still group 501 after the change; before the change, group 501 couldn't be
mapped to a name, but, after the change, it could be mapped to the name
"access_bpf".)
