I would have to disappoint you there. I closed this bug because there was no
bug within the realm of the wireshark tools, as opposed to your last comment
"Or does resaving the capture alter the captured data? That's probably a bug".
Hence, there was nothing for us Wireshark developers to fix.
But of course I'm glad to hear that the original problem with tcpdump has been
solved, but even if it was not solved, this bug-report would still have been
closed here...
