I'm disinclined to accept this until we understand what we're trying to fix.

Either way, to the submitter of the patch: please can you do

if(foo)
    bar;

rather than

if(foo) bar;

If there's no more information forthcoming on this bug soon, i suggest we close
it. It's been open 18 months without any further info.
