yes I understand that my request is fundamentally NOT what the application was
designed for. The idea of providing a vehicle that captures a Port and only
displays text, in this case Network Router or IDS/IDP info is very much
secondary.
I realize I can use the standard free http://www.kiwisyslog.com/index.php and
many have requested a linux version. Kiwisyslog now make a Linux lo viewer so I
suppose its up to me to write the capture program in Syslog-ng and display it
on kiwi Linux Log viewer.
I will leave this request as Low Enhancements - Just to gauge general interest.
I do appreciate that your intent is for promiscuous capture on Data not text.
