Hello all,

First of all, I apologize in advance for this question. It seems that it 
has been discussed already (and it seems a controversial topic) but 
honestly I am not sure about the answer.

I just installed the Microsoft loopback adapter. I'd like to test 
packets sent through by Server/Client sockets in C with Ethereal. Can I 
do that? Ethereal seems to recognize my loopback adapter IP address, but 
when I do a "ping" on this address, it won't work.
