hi, i'm new to ethereal. I tried starting it up and  then copying files over to another computer on my network. But no packets were displayed.   It doesn't seem to notice packets sent as i browse the web either. I installed the WinPcap software.
I even tried running all the EXEs in the winpcap directory, then running ethereal, and copying files over my network, and browsing the web,  but still not packets were displayed
 
any help would be appreciated
