It depends on the operating system and the traffic of your network. 
Should we assume that you indeed need to capture 400,000,000 bytes or 
more per second?

I remember reading something on LKML[0] about a limit in the capacity of 
older Linux kernels to handle that much traffic. Not sure about M$ 
systems.
