OK, I have had a stab at getting this right in CVS but have only been able 
to test it on Linux and FreeBSD. Linux with and without net-snmp, and 
FreeBSD without any form of SNMP.

I started messing with building on one of the Solaris boxed we have here 
only to discover that I need heaps of stuff installed that is not normally 
installed, so I gave up.

I don't think I have screwed the syntax up, so it should work on Solaris, 
but it would be appreciated if someone could check.
