Wireshark-gtk folder?

I am presently using the source code from https://www.wireshark.org/download.html--->source code
I think its master 1.12.1 version.

It does not have a wireshark-gtk folder.
Can you provide me links?

My development directory is Downloads/wireshark-1.12.1/build
After I "make" i see wireshark application in my build folder.
So i run ----> /Downloads/wireshark-1.12.1/build$ sudo ./wireshark

Thanks.

Hello Ateeth,

Are you sure you are not picking up a wireshark found in your $PATH as opposed to the one in the development directory?

If you are trying to launch it while from your development folder then you would launch it as ./wireshark (or sudo ./wireshark)

You also didn't mention which specific version of Wireshark you are building with.  In the git master the GTK based version has been renamed to wireshark-gtk instead of wireshark to allow for the possibility to have both QT and GTK versions of Wireshark available (the QT based version is just wireshark).

Hope this helps,

Jim Y.

Subject: [Wireshark-dev] changes to gtk\main_filter_toolbar.c not shown while building wireshark in linux

I am building wireshark in ubuntu from source code.

I am using GTK2 to build wireshark and therefore I use:
./configure --with-gtk2=yes --with-qt=no
However any changes to the gtk\main_filter_toolbar.c are not reflected to the wireshark application when i "make" and run "sudo wireshark".

However the same thing works in win32.
I am able to make changes to the filter toolbar.

Can someone please help me with this?
