Thanks for the report.

It turns out that the frames marked as "Malformed/Exception" seen in Wireshark
1.10.6 for the attached capture are dissected properly in the development
Wireshark version.

I note that the RSYNC dissector was significantly updated in June 2013 (after
Wireshark 1.10... was branched off of the dev Wireshark).

"Updated the rsync dissector to make it able to parse the newer variants
 of the protocol, treat binary data consistently and clearly differentiate
 packets of the client and the server."

The changes were to an extent that they were not backported to Wireshark
1.10...


So: If you wish to use the updated RSYNC dissector, you can download the latest
development version release of Wireshark from
http://www.wireshark.org/download.html
