Wireshark-bugs: [Wireshark-bugs] [Bug 8970] Error in IPv6 address decompression from 6LoWPAN pac

Well I'm guiding myself by the RFC and TinyOS/BLIP2 implementation notes. You
say you "think it was decided to almost always set this to zero", well if
that's the case, why didn't they change the RFC to mention that, or even
better, avoid the PAN ID all together? Doesn't make sense to me. To the best of
my understanding, the PAN ID is a crucial element of a device, doesn't it make
sense to include it in the IPv6 address?
I'm not familiar with Zigbee-IP, but is 6LoWPAN supposed to follow ZigBee-IP or
the other way around? 6LoWPAN is a IETF effort, isn't Zigbee based on a single
corporation?
There's just too much ambiguity.. it doesn't help the progress in this area IMO
:/
