Yes.

I have no idea - I can't reproduce again, and I haven't even rebuilt. I'm using
bit-for-bit the same binary as I was last night when it would happen
consistently. The only thing I've done is reboot my system. I've tried under
heavy traffic, light traffic, and no traffic, with no luck.

This is starting to smell like an underlying OS/kernel bug of some sort - the
fact that it seems to either happen or not happen consistently in a given
session doesn't make sense for a timing bug.

I'll do some more experiments, and get an strace dump if I see it again.
