Thanks for the feedback Chris.  I can see the advantages in either dissection
method and am happy adjusting the patch so that it shows the total length but
still uses proto_tree_add_item.  The reason I submitted a bug report was
because a colleague who has done much more Wireshark development than myself
suggested I do it, presumably because he was looking at the RFC and observed
the differences between the "Hdr Ext Len" as specified there and the "Length"
field currently displayed.

Maybe we could change "Length" to something like "Total Header Length" but
still show the length including the 8 bytes as is currently implemented?  I
think this would make it more clear that it includes the 8 bytes against what
the "Hdr Ext Len" field as defined in the RFC indicates.  What do you think?
