To whom does "you" refer? There are probably many people who receive this list who were on vacation, and there are also probably meany people who receive this list who were not on vacation.

I have installed X11 and XCode 2.1 for Mac OS 10.4.1, then Fink 0.8.0 and installed Ethereal. No error messages with installs. When I go to run Ethereal from X11 I get this error message and it does not start:

(ethereal:1188): GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Can not open pixbuf loader module file '/
sw/etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders': No such file or directory

(ethereal:1188): GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Error loading XPM image loader: Image typ
e 'xpm' is not supported

(ethereal:1188): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkpixbuf-render.c: line 293 (gdk_pixbuf_ render_pixmap_and_mask_for_colormap): assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed

** (ethereal:1188): WARNING **: No builtin or dynamically loaded modules
were found. Pango will not work correctly. This probably means
there was an error in the creation of:
  '/sw/etc/pango/pango.modules'
You may be able to recreate this file by running pango-querymodules.

These sound like problems with the construction of the Fink packages either for Ethereal (if you installed from a package; by the way, if you're installing from a binary package, you don't need XCode) or, more likely, for GTK+. You might want to ask whoever produced the GTK+ Fink packages about this.
