Ethereal-users: [Ethereal-users] ethereal keeps erroring out

I have been using ethereal for some time now, and I have recently come
across a problem I cannot seem to fix. I accidently let a sniffer
trace on once, and walked away. When this happens, I normally see two
CMD.EXE windows open when I get back. Well, this time I closed one of
them accidently. Now, every time I open ethereal, I get the splash
screen, it has "registering dissectors" and then it errors out. I
have tried to uninstall it, and re-install it, but it still has the
same problem.

Today, I was able to get it to work by running ethereal from the
command line, and putting a bogus file in as an argument. It then
runs, and after it's open, it gives me an error that it could not find
the file. However, it does work. Also - tethereal never has any
problems.

Can you suggest anywhere to look to fix this issue? Since it happens
after I uninstall the program, are there some registry settings I need
to fix or something?

Thanks,
Matt
