Hello Avram,

I'm reading my mail over using my Airport card right now while
Ethereal is capturing the traffic. This means I can not reproduce
the behavior you are describing. I'm using MacOS X 10.1.3 and XTools 1.0.4
as XServer. What are you using?

Best regards
Michael

Hello,

I originally sent this info to the fink mailing list thinking it might be a
dependency problem (and b/c I installed via fink)...

I have a problem with Ethereal somehow messing up my Airport card. When I launch Ethereal, Airport no longer sees any packets being received on the wire (or lack thereof 8-). I can't ping anything out there, although tcpdump
can still see the packets I'm sending *out* the airport card.

This all happens as soon as I launch Ethereal, not just after I try to
capture on the card.

When I do run a capture, Ethereal doesn't even see the packets I'm sending -
although tcpudump still does.

In order to get my Airport card back to normal, I have to quit ethereal,
stop tcpdump, and then bounce my airport card.

Anyone have any ideas?

-Avram
