I have searched on Google but could find any details about the file format used by K1205.

I found the following perl script that might be useful as a temporar solution.

However I guess that you want to be able to use the binary files directly with Ethereal.

You could maybe start with trying to find any details in the Tektronix documentation and start comparing some
text output with the binary files.

I guess that some people may be able to help you if you provide some sample captures/text output (e.g. send some small
samples to the list or put some sample captures and text output on a web-page or similar).

Subject: [Ethereal-dev] Reading Tektronix K1205 traces with Ethereal

Hi folks,

Is anyone planning to develop the capability to understand the Tektronix K1205 trace format in Ethereal? It may not be too difficult looking at the example code for other analyzers in wiretap, but it would certainly require a detailed understanding of this format (the API manual on the Tektronix page may help with this). Are there any legal restrictions for doing something like this, with the possible need to reverse engineer the traces? Any experience from other analyzers regarding this?

I might want to give it a try, but I would be interested in any support.

Christian
