Hi,

I have looked briefly at the issue of coming up initially with just the
packet list and then switching to the tree panes view when a packet is
selected.

This appears possible, but a snag seems to be that there is no
gtk_paned_remove1 functions.

The idea would be that initially, packet_list would be added to the top
vbox with a gtk_container_add.

Later, when a frame is selected, the packet_list would be removed from the
top vbox with gtk_container_remove, and the three panes added, and the
packet list, tree, and byte view added ...

However, since there is no gtk_paned_remove{1,2} functions, it means that
the packet_list might end up being a child of two objects. Is this possible?

Are there any destroy routines in gtk?
