Yes, it is getting a bit big.

(Did we have a discussion of this several months ago?)

Perhaps pointing people to the AUTHORS file and to a credits page on the
Web site (which would contain the AUTHORS file from the most recent
release, possibly HTMLized with "mailto:"s) would be sufficient?

We could do the same in the man page.
