Hi, If this is OT I hope it's only slightly so.  I will be doing a series of baseline analyses of offices around the country.  I am planning to capture most salient information at each site, in order to record what is "normal" in the following regards:

-bandwidth usage at key points such as internet gateway, server, and wireless access points
-protocols/applications in use and in what proportion
-maximum bandwidth available between key endpoints: server to workstations across wired and wireless; workstation to internet; workstation across ipsec tunnel to other office
-round trip time, and any jitter and loss across vpn tunnel

AND:
-typical performance of our application (# seconds to perform key application functions)
-those same measurements for wired clients, wireless clients, and remote clients

Anybody have any favorite questionairre-style or checklists to use for this task?  I feel like I saw some a million years ago in Priscilla Oppenheimer's top-down network design book, but I don't have that any more, and I thought I'd see what other people use.  I could write one from scratch, but didn't want to reinvent the wheel.

My reasons for doing this are so that I don't forget to do things at certain sites, even as I am pounded by drive-bys from the staff, AND, to show some consistency in my approach when analyzing the lot of them, and sharing my results.
