Hi,

On 06/23/2010 08:17 PM, Keith French wrote:
I want to add a column for DSCP, but in V1.4.0rc1, when I right click on
the DSCP field and select "Apply as column", it uses the filter
ip.dsfield.dscp. However, this displays the verbose DSCP value e.g.
"Differentiated Services Codepoint: Expedited Forwarding (0x2e)".

It would show the resolved value of 0x2e, being "Expedited Forwarding" in the custom column.

Is there a way to force the column to display just the decimal value
(46) of this field?

That would required the option of having custom columns with unresolved values. An interesting concept in itself.

I am sure that in 1.2.8 this filter used as a column
did display just the decimal value.

1.2.x was a bit different. There you had a program defined column type DSCP, which was filled in by the dissector with the unresolved value of the field.

The new development and 1.4 branch code tries to convert these program defined column types into custom columns in order to reduce the number of program defined columns. Note that there's an error in this conversion in 1.4.0rc1, which is already fixed and scheduled for inclusion in the next release. Just so you know.

Thanks,
Jaap
