Well I'm sure it's not the *only* way. One other thing you could try is to follow the advice given by this thread on the winpcap list: http://www.winpcap.org/pipermail/winpcap-bugs/2010-March/001182.html. Most/all the information is also here on this Wireshark bug report: https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4372. I'm not sure if it'll help you or not, but it seems like it's worth a try.
Other than that, there are other tools available, albeit not free, that might help you. See http://wiki.wireshark.org/Tools#head-2c19fc30f040fcb0d6bb003fa3809648c90ed6b0 for a short list of some. A google search will likely find even more.
Maybe others have some additional advice for you?

I want to use it on my laptop, but my laptop only has MS windows...

Hello everyone! I have a 3G USB modem(E1550) made by Huawei, and i want to check its wireless network by wireshark.
But wireshark can't read this modem as an interface... nothing changed in "interface list" after i plug in this modem...
I googled and found that seems wireshark can read Huawei E220 modem... How can i use wireshark for my E1550?
