Wireshark-users: Re: [Wireshark-users] Reliability?
Thanks. Those are the steps I
took yesterday and it seems to be much better now. As it happens, that is
exactly the scenario we are looking for, a VOIP problem that happens every
10-20,000 hours. Kinda tough to catch. Cheers, Bob Eugene, OR - Tucson, AZ From:

[mailto:wireshark-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Smith What
have you got in display options ? I have this problem frequently trying
to capture intermittent voip issues that might not occur for days. I
had much more success unticking update list in real time, and ticking hide
capture dialog. The only way to see it is capturing is the status bar counter,
watching the packet counter go up. That would then run for days. Updating
list in real time brought it to its knees pretty quick. I
usually go for 50mb files because they're easy to work with and can be joined
together easy enough if reqd. From: wireshark-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

On Behalf Of Bob Carlson We have been trying to do a long running capture and we
cannot keep Wireshark up and running. WS is up to date. We are monitoring 1
port and writing out 100MB files. Each file is filled in a 2-4 hours. WS will
not stay up forever. It dies every so often. We are trying a larger buffer
size. Are there any known issues? Cheers, Bob Bob Carlson | +1 719 571 9228 (office)
