Title: Re: [Wireshark-users] Wireshark 1.05 dies on OS-X 10.4

Thanks Jaap.

This from a comment near the end of bug report “GUI crashes on OSX 10.4.11” ( https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2679)
“As bug 3042 states, the download page doesn't make it clear enough that the download available from wireshark.org is 10.5-only;”

Is there any way to get it running on Tiger?

G

Hello all.  I’ve just installed Wireshark, and added the ChmodBPF folder to my /Libraries/StartupItems, you can add my voice to the “clear as mud” thread at http://wireshark.osmirror.nl/lists/wireshark-users/200804/msg00220.html). <http://wireshark.osmirror.nl/lists/wireshark-users/200804/msg00220.html>

So  I start X11 then I start Wireshark, and a few seconds later – before I get any GUI – Wireshark just dies.  I know it’s opening cause if I apple-tab to switch app I see the nice blue icon.  Then the Icon vanishes in a puff of OS-X animation :-(

No error message and I can’t find a log anywhere.
Does anyone know what’s going on?

Thanks,
Guy
