*Which* vcredist_x86.exe solved the problem? There are at least four, one for
each version of Visual Studio since 2005. Each has the same name, but a
different version:
2005 : 6.0.2900.2180
2005 SP1: 6.0.3790.0
2008 : 9.0.21022.8
2008 SP1: 9.0.30729.17
