Just checked with 1.0.0 (Debian package) and the development version: Start
Wireshark, open file, select MP3 file, open. Works in both versions.
What version are you at?

annoyingly, I managed to get this to work but can't find/remember the
details of how - now whenever I try it I get messages from wireshark
saying it can't read the format ...
