Hi all.. first time poster here, so be gentle..

When using WireShark to capture data from a WLAN, is there anything specific within the captures to spot the difference between noise and multipath?  I suspect not, but thought I’d ask.  I typically use a YellowJacket to do this, but was wondering if there are symptoms of each when reviewing the captured data.

For instance, in the captured data the SSID is “TestNetwork”, and it’s usually listed in the Info column as:  SSID: “TestNetwork”; but sometimes it’s listed as: SSID: “Ters$#%n/355rk”, or some other garbled string.  When using WireShark alone, is there a way to determine if it’s more likely to be a multipath problem as opposed to a noise problem?

TIA.
