Sure? Nothing is sure, so maybe I shouldn't have said obviously. (grin) 
Actually I've had trouble setting this myself on a 3500 series switch, but 
the symptoms are classic - seeing just broadcast traffic is what you 
expect on an unmodified switch port. The second link is what I use to 
verify I get the syntax right.

Are you sure that the port monitoring is wrong for a 3560?

Maybe I'm missing something.
