Thanks, installing portaudio and re-installing wireshark helped with the first part of the issue.

Premise: I'm not a fink user but I build on a Mac with portaudio.

I do not know if there's a portaudio port in fink if so install it and
have fink call ./configure adding the --with-portaudio argument.

configure is smart enough to enable portaudio, once it is available, as of ./configure --help :)

If not you need to build and install portaudio yoursef (As far as I
remember it builds smoothly on mac).

Yes, it does.
However, while I now have the player and can even see a graphic representation of the audio, it refuses to play. Exporting to .au still fails with "codec not supported".

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to decode RTP-Streams with Wireshark on Mac OS X (10.4.10
Intel), running into two problems:
1) the "Player" button as described on
VoIP_calls is present with my installations
2) exporting to .au files tells me, the codec is unsupported

I have ruled out using the wrong codec by trying the supplied demo-

Both the current version from fink (0.99.6-1011) and 0.99.5d from won't decode G.711 u/a-law or
display the magic "Player" button

Am I missing a library for the codecs?
Do I need to tweak something when building wireshark from fink?
