Take a look at b845e29 and 38d08e0. They're 2 examples of stats_tree for DNS and HPFEEDS that do exactly what Roland said. Use them as examples.

Thanks Roland. Exactly what I needed.

Also thanks for the prompt response.

Hi

This depends on how sophisticated you want the final panel to be. If you just want to add new statistics for one dissector, this likely could be done in a week. Take a look at README.stats_tree for details in the doc subdirectory of the source-code.

If you want a more sophisticated analysis done, this could take a little more time, but still well less than 10 weeks. Just keep in mind, that if you do not use the stats_tree, you will have to implement the new statistics for all three ui interfaces (Qt, GTK and tshark), which will take the majority of the timeframe.

Roland

Hi everybody,

I need to estimate how many weeks more or less would it take to implement a new panel in Statistics for RTPS. I think it's time to get this kind of stuff done :)

I know everything about RTPS and I have been updating the dissector for a long time. Also, I know how to navigate through the source code.

How many weeks do you think this can take? I just need a rough estimation. Even if somebody says 10 weeks and it finally takes 15 I won't blame everybody. I just need something so I can start thinking about it!

Thanks!
