There are dissectors such as Diameter that get some of their information from configuration files.  It parses XML files to build up entries it knows about and dynamically registers items based up the names and types of items it finds there.  It then looks up and uses those items while dissecting.  Wimaxasncp is another example.

Hey all,

is there a way to dynamically generate part of a dissector? For example reading a database (sqlite/xml/etc.) and use that at run time to generate the dissector?

Are there any dissectors that already do this ?
