For the record, I compiled wireshark using several MacPorts
libraries and with the following configure options:
./configure \
CPPFLAGS=-I/opt/local/include/ \
LDFLAGS=-L/opt/local/lib \
--without-plugins \
--without-python \
--disable-warnings-as-errors
