Done, as of revision 36563.  See whether that builds (it builds on OS X, but big deal - OS X is a 4.4-Lite-derived OS, so it's had a 64-bit off_t, regardless of the size of long, since Day One, and I'm building it on Snow Leopard on a Core 2 machine so it's building 64-bit by default anyway).
