On what operating system are you running Wireshark?

This is probably an issue with the modem, its drivers, the OS's  
networking stack and, on Windows, WinPcap, not an issue with Wireshark  
itself (Wireshark uses libpcap on UN*X and WinPcap on Windows to do  
traffic capture).
