Hi,
Nothing beats a "real" trace of course but text2pcap is an
option, how to do it depends on the protocol layers and what type of traces you
do have available.
You'll
have to hand craft your protocol part which may not be so easy and may not prove
that your dissector is correct.

I am presently working on wireshark
for past few days. I tried to include a protocol in asn.1 format. Could
any one of you, help me by saying how to generate the test packet to test
it.
