Why?

My thinking was that since the arrow can (depending on your Wireshark
window size) shift the rightmost button off the screen, users who
frequently use the rightmost button may not like having to click on the
arrow to get to that button and prefer it the way it used to be.  Do you
think it is not necessary to be able to disable it?
The problem with such preferences is: there will be too much of them. Having lot's of preferences makes it hard to get an idea what they are all about.

So, I'd vote to simply remove this preference,
