Wireshark · Wireshark-dev: [Wireshark-dev] speed up filtering packets

If I ran Statistics->Service Response Time ->LDAP with a hugh pcap file
and use in that pop-up window the same filter expression as for the displayed packages - 
does wireshark filter the whole file again regardless that it was already filtered ?
