Slightly off topic, but in this statement/request...
Please do not send patches compressed as zip files: It makes viewing
them inline impossible. I at least won't spend the time at looking at
them (except that they personally interest me).
Did you mean "zip files" literally, or did you mean "compressed
files". In the latter case, doesn't this conflict what is mentioned in
the "Source Code" section of
http://wiki.wireshark.org/SendingFilesToWireshark?
I also remember that there has also been some discussion earlier on
how certain mail clients maul text-attachments.
