That thread has the claim from David Edwin that

[There are] Too many issues in 1.12.x, we reported a few but did not have
the resources to keep following up on it. 1.12.x should not be used.

but I can't find any bugs that appear to be from Nordic Semiconductor, and
couldn't find any emails in my mailbox from them, either.

Perhaps the problem is that their plugin was written for, and built with,
1.10.x, and that changes to the dissector API/ABI between 1.10.x and 1.12.x
mean that their plugin doesn't work correctly in 1.12.x. If so, then, now that
the dissector is built in, that shouldn't be an issue with 2.3.x development
releases and won't be an issue with 2.4.x and later.

("Use only 1.10.x" will, over time, become a less useful response, so I'd
advise Nordic Semiconductor to find a better response, and, if they did,
indeed, report some issues, let us know where those issues were reported.)
