The remote capture API in {lib,Win,N}pcap will probably change in the future,
in a fashion that might make it easier to implement this in Wireshark (as well
as in a fashion that supports more types of remote capture, e.g. the "capture
from a Wi-FI AP" stuff might be supported in a fashion less clumsy than
"capture all traffic from/to some particular UDP port and have the dissector
for the remote packet protocol in question do the work of understanding the
protocol").
That would involve GUI changes - and CLI changes for dumpcap and TShark (and
tcpdump...).
